| This class provides an excellent
introduction to pet behavior and obedience training. Dogs will
learn basic obedience commands including Sit, Down, Come, Wait
and Stand. Handlers will learn teaching skills that help dogs
understand and enjoy learning. Many other aspects of good behavior
in the home are covered, such as biting, jumping up, walking
on leash, leadership, feeding and house-breaking. The class
is small with ample time for questions and discussion. The focus
is on understanding dogs and building a positive relationship.
Toys, treats and praise are used as motivators. The class is
great for pets and also provides a good start for AKC obedience
competition. Puppies over 12 weeks and dogs of all ages are
welcome.
